Hands-On Balloon Class

Full Event (October 15-16, 2025)

Join us for an immersive two-day balloon class where you’ll learn the skills, tips, and techniques to start or grow your balloon business. From theory to hands-on practice, this workshop will guide you through everything from the basics to advanced installations.

Day 1, 10 am-5:30 pm: Foundations & Hands-On Garlands 

• Tips to start your balloon business successfully
• Essential techniques
• Backdrop & arch set-ups
• Enhancing designs with orbz, foils, florals & greenery
• Hands-on practice: create your own grab-and-go garland (light stands provided)

Day 2, 10 am-5 pm: Advanced & Hands-On Exterior Installation 

• Connecting balloon garlands for large-scale outdoor designs
• Step-by-step exterior installation on different levels and surfaces
• Tips to create strong bases for large volume designs

About the Instructors:

Ernesta (@Chicago_Decor) is a long-time Chicago decorator who has mastered techniques not only in balloons but with full event set-ups as well. Her talent shines through in every detail, combining creativity and precision to transform any space into a stunning celebration. In this class, you’ll also learn from decorators with a variety of talents—from woodworking to styling—bringing you a well-rounded event design experience.
